Feeling like you need to detoxify your system and give your immunity a boost at the same time? This Lemon Ginger Detox Drink will help you achieve both! It's made with only 3 natural ingredients; lemon, ginger, and water. It's super easy to make, tastes yummy, and is loaded with health benefits.

While drinking lots of water is a great way to flush out your system, drinking water infused with lemon and ginger offers even more detoxifying benefits! Plus, both are known to support immune health.

Lemons are an excellent source of antioxidants and Vitamin C. Adding more of this citrus fruit into your diet is an easy way to boost your immunity. Lemons, with their antimicrobial properties, are a great way to remove toxins. They also aid in digestion, and help improve skin and hair, to name only a few of the many benefits.

Most notably known to ease nausea, the health benefits offered from ginger are many! Ginger is very good for detoxification and reducing pain and inflammation. Ginger is similar to lemons in that it's also loaded with antioxidants and is a great immune booster.

Personally, I love the zip in flavor that this drink offers. However, if you prefer a drink with a slightly sweeter zip, you can add a touch of honey. When preparing, be sure to use filtered water and fresh organic lemons and ginger.

Ingredients:

8 cups of water

1 lemon, washed and chopped

1 Tbsp (or a bit more if you love ginger) grated ginger, no need to remove the outer skin

Preparation:

In a large pot add water and bring to a boil.

Once boiling, add lemon and ginger. Continue to boil for 5 min, uncovered.

Then, cover with a tight fitting lid and remove from heat. Allow to steep for 15min.

Remove lid and allow to cool.

Drink your Lemon Ginger Detox beverage throughout the day.

TIP: I like to use a soup ladle and fill a large mug while this drink is still hot and enjoy it as a tea. Once it's cooled down, I remove the lemons and pour it into a large pitcher to drink from all day. If you want to reheat and enjoy it warm, you can do so however don't bring it to a boil again.

For even more detoxification, add this Broccoli Cauliflower Detox Salad to your diet as well.
