Personally, I love the zip in flavor that this drink offers. However, if you prefer a drink with a slightly sweeter zip, you can add a touch of honey. When preparing, be sure to use filtered water and fresh organic lemons and ginger.
Ingredients:
8 cups of water
1 lemon, washed and chopped
1 Tbsp (or a bit more if you love ginger) grated ginger, no need to remove the outer skin
Preparation:
In a large pot add water and bring to a boil.
Once boiling, add lemon and ginger. Continue to boil for 5 min, uncovered.
Then, cover with a tight fitting lid and remove from heat. Allow to steep for 15min.
Remove lid and allow to cool.
Drink your Lemon Ginger Detox beverage throughout the day.
TIP: I like to use a soup ladle and fill a large mug while this drink is still hot and enjoy it as a tea. Once it's cooled down, I remove the lemons and pour it into a large pitcher to drink from all day. If you want to reheat and enjoy it warm, you can do so however don't bring it to a boil again.
